SOCOPAC 50 S 500ML AEROSOL HFO

SOCOPAC 50S 500ML AEROSOL HFO is an aircraft corrosion inhibitor designed to provide long-lasting corrosion protection for commercial and military aircraft materials, spare parts, and assemblies exposed to unfavourable climatic conditions. It forms an efficient barrier against corrosion-causing agents including water, oxygen, acids, bases, salts from industrial emissions, and tropical atmospheres.

Corrosion Protection

SOCOPAC 50S provides long-term corrosion prevention on a wide range of materials, including aluminium and alloys, steels, light metals such as titanium and magnesium, zinc and galvanized steel, copper and its alloys, and cadmium.

It can also be applied without risk of attack on painted surfaces, composite materials, plastics, rubbers, Plexiglas, and polycarbonates (non crazing). The formulation is free from harmful solvents, toluene, xylene, and chlorinated compounds.

Protective Film Properties

• After drying, forms an impervious and durable protective film resistant to temperature differentials, heavy rain, sea air, tropical atmospheres, and corrosive industrial atmospheres.
• Produces a medium-hard, wax-like film that is dry to the touch.
• The flexible film can absorb slight impacts without damage or crazing.
• Capillary activity and polarity towards the treated surface provide a self-healing effect that helps prevent deeper scratches from spreading, allowing protected parts to be handled even after prolonged storage without loss of protective value.
• The dry film is intended to withstand several years of outdoor exposure while remaining stable.
• Exposure to air, sunlight, or heat does not cause cross-linking or polymerisation, allowing the coating to be removed several years after application as easily as on the first day.

Water Repellency and Associated Products

SOCOPAC 50S has a particularly pronounced hydrophobic quality, although it is not designed specifically as a hydrophobic compound. Its capillary properties allow it to protect materials normally exposed to open air and efficiently repel water.

For materials and parts exposed to humid, enclosed conditions and wide temperature differences, a water-repellent compound such as WADIS 24 should be applied before SOCOPAC 50S. SOCOPAC 25H can be used before SOCOPAC 50S where a total thickness greater than 50 microns is required.
