SOCOPAC 50 S 5L METAL PAIL

CORROSION INHIBITOR SOCOPAC 50S 5L/1,3GAL METAL PAIL is an aircraft corrosion inhibitor providing long-lasting corrosion protection for commercial and military aircraft materials, spare parts and assemblies exposed to unfavourable climatic conditions. After drying, it forms an impervious, durable protective film that acts as an efficient barrier against corrosion-causing agents including water, oxygen, acids, bases and salts from industrial emissions and tropical atmospheres.

Material Compatibility

SOCOPAC 50S provides long-lasting corrosion protection on materials including aluminium and alloys, steels, light metals such as titanium and magnesium, zinc and galvanized steel, copper and its alloys, and cadmium. It can also be applied without risk of attack on painted surfaces, composite materials, plastics, rubbers, Plexiglas and polycarbonates (non crazing).

Key Features

• After drying, forms an impervious and durable protective film resistant to temperature differentials, heavy rain, sea air, tropical atmospheres and corrosive industrial atmospheres.
• Produces a medium hard, wax-like film that is dry to the touch.
• Flexible film can absorb slight impacts without damage or crazing.
• Capillary activity and polarity towards the treated surface provide a «self-healing» effect that helps prevent deeper scratches from spreading.
• Allows protected pieces to be handled even after prolonged storage without loss of the protective value of the SOCOPAC 50S film.
• Dry film is intended to resist several years outdoors and remain stable during this period.
• Does not suffer air-damage from exposure to sun or heat and is not subjected to cross linking or polymerisation, allowing removal several years after application.
• Hydrophobic and capillary properties enable effective water repellency for materials normally exposed to open air.
• Free of harmful solvents, toluene, xylene and chlorinated compounds.

Associated Products

For materials and parts exposed to humid, enclosed conditions or wide temperature differences, a water-repellent compound should be applied before SOCOPAC 50S. WADIS 24 can be used for this purpose, or SOCOPAC 25H where a total thickness greater than 50 microns is required.
